Problems with Landfills

1) What are bottom liners?
A bottom liners are the layers of clay or a synthetic flexible  membrance.


2) Explain, IN YOUR OWN WORDS (the answers are right there and obvious so you have to be able to put your answers in your own words), the problems with the following types of bottom liners:
a) Clay- Clay is often the fractured and cracked, the memechansim callled the diffusion will move the organic chemicals.
b) Plastic-the more begins the things the most you can cause it do develop stress cracks.
c) composite- the liner that si a single liner made of two parts and the plastic liner and the compacted soil.


3) What is a leachate collection system? Explain one problems with this system.
Is the water that gets badly contaminated by contacting wates and the bottom of the landfill and  the collect by the system of the pipes.



4) What is a cover? Explain one problem with using a cover.
The cap that an umbrella over the landfill that keeps the water out.


5) Considering that Americans produce almost 5 pounds a day (as an individual), what do you think are some alternatives to landfills?

I think that the lanfills is a good think so people and the sociallity can live in a good place and that people has to take care of the trash and everything so we can live in a good conditions and healthy
